Consular Services in Denver & Wyoming
Our Honorary Consul supports German citizens and friends of Germany across Colorado and Wyoming. All services are offered by appointment only at our new office in downtown Denver. Please use the “Schedule an Appointment” link or e-mail us if you need further assistance.

Passport Renewals
We can accept applications to renew your German passport or, in urgent cases, issue an emergency travel document. Bring the following to your appointment:
- completed passport application form
- current or most recent German passport/ID card
- two biometric photos (per ICAO standard, 35 × 45 mm)
- U.S. residence permit or proof of legal status
- applicable fees (credit card or money order)
Processing depends on your application and the responsible authority. Confirm current timing before making travel plans.

Registration & Family Matters
We guide you through the correct procedure, help you prepare the necessary declarations and forward your file to the competent Standesamt in Germany. Typical services include:
- Birth registrations and certificates
- Marriage registrations and recognition of U.S. divorces
- Name declarations for children and spouses
- Life certificates (“Lebensbescheinigung”) for German pensions
Certified U.S. originals and sworn German translations may be required; we will advise you on a case-by-case basis.

Certification & Documentation
We authenticate signatures, certify true copies and notarize life-certificates or pension forms for use in Germany. If your U.S. document requires an apostille, please note that only the issuing U.S. authority can attach it; the German Consul cannot. We can, however, explain the process and verify whether an apostille is needed. Common requests include:
- Signature certifications for inheritance, real-estate or banking matters
- Certified copies of U.S. diplomas, court orders or corporate documents
- Life-certificates for German pension authorities
- Guidance on obtaining FBI certificates of conduct or state apostilles
Appointments are mandatory and fees vary by document type.
